Writer's Block: Missing from Nature

If one thing were to be stricken from nature, what could you stand to see go?
Disease of any kind.  I can't think of another thing that makes us more miserable than disease. Just on the minor side of the deal would be colds.  I would love to go through a whole year without one cold.  And on the other end Cancer.

I am not an accident...

I've been doing a lot of reading lately. Not as much TV and online stuff. I'm finding that I have a whole lot more time in the day, but that they go faster than before.

I've started reading Matthew pretty thoroughly. I've read chapters 1-9 and then I am going back and reading those same chapters in another translation. Today I started reading the footnotes from both the NKJV study Bible and then the NLT Life Application Bible I have. I really like the NLT. It's comfortable. That's about as descriptive as I get tonight. HAHA!

I'm also reading A Purpose Driven Life. I got my Mom to read it with me. There is a difference of beliefs when it comes to some issues. We're on day 2... It's early. I can see us disagreeing a bit as we go along. She's got some different ideas. Nothing serious. We disagree on a few other things in life, so I can't imagine having a smooth ride over the cobblestones that are our lives.

On top of that I threw a Christian novel in there. The Last Disciple is a good book. Touchy subject matter that can be pretty graphic, but effective. It's got some definitely preterist ideas. I'm looking forward to seeing how they deal with that. It's published by the same publisher that did the Left Behind series. Totally different books though.

My Mom has a minor surgery in about 7 hours. I didn't get to bed early enough, so I'm up all night. I have a few things DVR'd. That will keep me busy for about an hour.

Time for a Red Bull with a coffee chaser.

I am completely inspired by John McCain's speech tonight. His service to our country is amazing. How anyone can even compare a Barack Obama to him in any way is amazing. He's leaps and bounds ahead of Barack in terms of service to his country alone.

Tomorrow I begin the process of serving my God and my country by starting volunteer work at a kitchen that prepares, delivers, and serves meals to the homeless. Since I don't need money for the moment, I think I can do this a few times a week at least. It's a place to meet people who are similar to myself in beliefs and values. Something that I have not gone after in some time. I am leaving a small portion of my life behind me. I don't have the same values that I did at that time. I'm doing much better than I was at that time I believe. In fact there is no comparison. It's been a hard time to leave behind. I can't figure out why either. I'm leaving it though, and that is a good thing. A GREAT thing.

What I believe...

"Liberation Theology" is Barack Obama's religion. He can't deny it. He lived in it proudly for years.

John McCain IS an American hero. He is a leader already, and loves this country more than he loves himself.

Sarah Palin is a pistol toting hockey mom. And a darn good choice for VP, and when called upon, for President.

God above all, but after that service to your country should be what all Americans strive for. I'm not just talking about millitary service, but teaching, feeding the poor, and loving your neighbor, despite his faults. Anything that strengthens our nation.

Money and Greed are the root of all that is evil. Ambition is in there too.

Love a liberal. God knows someone needs too.

opening post...

Awwwe... New journal newness.

This is going to be a dumping spot for my experiences walking with Jesus, and when I'm not walking with him. It will hopefully be a fun excersise.
